Double-sided Vertical Coil Clamps for Lifting Slit Steel Coil, Precision Steel Coil
Double-sided vertical coil clamps are mechanical lifting clamps designed specifically for vertical lifting of steel coils. They are a subcategory of vertical coil clamps and are widely used in vertical loading and unloading operations of steel coils in steel mills, metallurgy, logistics and other fields.

Working Principle: A lever- or hydraulically-driven clamp arm clamps the outer surface of the coil, locking with its own weight (the heavier the load, the greater the clamping force).
Suitable for: 5-50 ton coils, particularly suitable for slit coils and precision coils.
Advantages: No slippage damage, high verticality (double-arm clamp ensures the coil bottom is level).
Typical Application Scenarios
Hall Annealing Furnace Loading and Unloading: Kunda's 20-ton double-sided clamp is designed specifically for bright annealing furnaces, enabling vertical loading and unloading of steel coils, avoiding surface scratches caused by horizontal handling (Abstract 12);

Advantages and Limitations
Advantages:
No power dependency: Purely mechanical construction, suitable for explosion-proof/powerless environments (such as steel coil transfer in oil depots);
Zero surface damage: Gripping jaw pads (polyurethane/nylon) protect the steel coil coating, superior to chains/electromagnetic chucks;
High cost-effectiveness: Purchase cost is only 1/3 of electro-hydraulic types, and maintenance is simple (Abstracts 10-12).
Limitations:
Large tonnage (≥50 tons) requires hydraulic assistance, resulting in a higher unit cost;
Ultra-small diameter steel coils (Φ<500mm) are difficult to accommodate, requiring custom grippers.
