1. Matching the ton bag specifications with the lifting points

Lifting point quantity adaptation: Ton bags commonly have 4 lifting points, and the lifting device must be designed accordingly. For ton bags with 2 lifting points, a suitable lifting beam must be selected; forced installation is strictly prohibited.

Adjustable lifting distance: As shown in the image of lifting multiple ton bags, a lifting beam with adjustable lifting distance must be selected to accommodate different ton bag sizes (90×90cm, 100×100cm, etc.) to improve versatility.

Hook size matching: The inner diameter of the hook must fully accommodate the ton bag sling to avoid compression, bending, and stress on the sling, preventing sling breakage (as shown in the size design of the red hook in the image).

2. Lifting Method and Equipment Compatibility

Compatible Lifting Equipment: The lifting equipment must match the hook size and lifting height of overhead cranes, forklifts, and main cranes. 3. Working Environment Compatibility

Temperature Environment: High-temperature workshops (such as metallurgy and foundry) require high-temperature resistant chains/lifting devices; low-temperature cold storage (such as cold chain) requires low-temperature resistant steel to prevent brittle fracture.

Corrosive Environments: Chemical plants, ports, and other similar environments require hot-dip galvanizing/powder coating for corrosion protection, and stainless steel fittings are used.

Dust/Flammable/Explosive Environments: Select explosion-proof lifting equipment to avoid sparks; dusty environments require regular cleaning to prevent wear.

Selection Pitfalls (Common Mistakes)

❌ Mistake 2: Selecting non-standard lifting equipment with a low safety factor (<5:1), creating safety hazards;

❌ Mistake 3: Hook size mismatch with ton bag slings, causing sling compression and bending stress;

❌ Mistake 4: Ignoring environmental suitability, using ordinary lifting equipment in high-temperature/corrosive environments, accelerating aging;

❌ Mistake 5: Purchasing substandard products without third-party certification or factory inspection reports.

For simultaneous lifting of multiple tonnes, the following aspects require special attention during equipment selection: The balance performance of the lifting beam must be ensured to guarantee even stress on each tonne and prevent tipping; the spacing between lifting points must be appropriate for the tonne dimensions to prevent collisions; the chain lengths must be consistent to avoid overloading any single chain; for high-frequency operations, it is recommended to use an automatic unhooking lifting device to improve efficiency.
