Core Design and Selection
Load and Safety Factor
Calculated load = net weight of scrubber × dynamic load factor (1.1-1.3) × imbalance factor (1.1-1.2). The safety factor must be ≥ 6 times (refer to Summary 1 and 3 of the Chemical Industry Heavy-Duty Standard).
Example: For a 50-ton scrubber, the calculated load = 50 × 1.3 × 1.2 = 78 tons. A lifting beam with a total rated load of ≥ 78 × 6 = 468 tons is required (if using a four-leg chain, each leg must be ≥ 117 tons).
Structural Simplification and Detachable Design
Beam: Welded from Q235/Q355 steel, with a rectangular/I-shaped cross-section (for simplified processing), painted with epoxy zinc-rich primer and fluorocarbon topcoat (for chemical plant corrosion resistance). Lifting Eyes: Refer to the detachable lifting eyes in Summary 4 (bolted to the beam), made of 35CrMo, with a load rating corresponding to the chain (e.g., a single-leg chain with a 120-ton capacity would have a lifting eye rated at 120 tons).
Chain and Rigging Matching
Chain: Choose G80/G100 grade alloy steel chain (breaking strength 800/1000 MPa), hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance, and use a matching 42CrMo shackle (with a load rating corresponding to the chain).
