Lifting Strap for Handling Wind Turbine Blades
The lifting strap used for lifting the blades of power-generating wind turbines is a flexible lifting tool designed specifically for wind turbine blades (usually 20-80 meters in length, weighing several tons to tens of tons, and being slender, fragile composite components). Its core feature is that the wide sling disperses the pressure over a large area of contact, preventing the blades from being deformed or damaged due to excessive local force during lifting.

Multi-point hoisting and balance control
Wind turbine blades are slender structures (large aspect ratio), and need to be hoisted with multiple slings through 2-4 lifting points (designed according to length) to ensure force balance:
The position of the lifting point is determined by calculation (usually symmetrically distributed on both sides of the blade's center of gravity) to avoid bending and deformation during hoisting;
The lengths of multiple slings must be accurately matched, and the blades must remain horizontal or slightly raised during hoisting (to prevent the blade tip from touching the ground).
Flexible protection design
The contact area between the sling and the blade adopts a wide design (width ≥ 15 cm) to disperse the pressure: for example, for a 10-ton blade, if the contact area of a single sling is 0.1㎡, the unit pressure is only 100kPa, which is much lower than the compressive strength of the composite material (usually ≥ 500kPa);
Avoid the edge of the sling from directly contacting the tip of the blade or weak parts (such as the transition area between the root and the blade), and install a cushion or arc guard if necessary.
