Synthetic Fiber Lifting Belt for Handling Wind Turbine Tower
In the lifting operations of wind turbine towers (usually weighing 50-300 tons and with a diameter of 3-5 meters), synthetic fiber slings have become one of the core lifting tools due to their advantages such as flexible protection, large-tonnage adaptability, and anti-aging.

Tonnage and Safety Factor
A single section of a wind turbine tower typically weighs 50-100 tons, so the safety factor for the slings must be ≥6:1 (≥7:1 is recommended for extreme conditions).
For example, a 100-ton tower requires slings with a rated load ≥100 ÷ 6 ≈ 16.7 tons. In practice, a 20-ton sling (single) or multiple slings in parallel (e.g., four 50-ton slings, with a single load ≤100 ÷ (4 × 6) ≈ 4.17 tons) is recommended.
Materials and Construction
Polyester slings: Blue markings, strong weather resistance (-40°C to 100°C), and UV resistance, suitable for outdoor wind turbine applications.
Flat slings: Wide contact surface (≥15cm), distributing pressure, and protecting the tower's anti-corrosion coating (preventing chain scratches).
Sheathed: If the tower's lifting point has sharp edges, choose a sling with an abrasion-resistant outer sheath (such as a polyester + Kevlar braid).
