Track Battery Powered Electric Flat Car for Metal Products Processing Plant

Through the standardized and heavy-loaded design of rail electric flat cars, metal products factories can efficiently integrate the steel transportation process, which is especially suitable for scenarios that require frequent and large-scale material transfer. When combined with production line automation, it can further improve production efficiency.

Core features of electric flat cars

    1. High load-bearing capacity and stability

    • Heavy-duty design: Metal products factories often transport heavy materials such as steel plates and profiles. The flat cars are supported by steel rails and have a load-bearing capacity of more than 50 tons (even over 100 tons). The frame is welded with high-strength steel and equipped with rigid wheels to evenly distribute the load and avoid material slippage or equipment damage caused by shaking during transportation.

    • Smooth operation: The steel rail guide keeps the flat car's driving track fixed, avoiding the bumps caused by uneven ground for trackless equipment. It is especially suitable for transporting precision metal parts or materials that need to remain horizontal (such as thin steel plates and metal molds). 2. Efficient and automated adaptation

    • Long-distance continuous operation: The flat cars can be connected to the factory power grid (such as low-voltage rail power supply and busbar power supply), without the need for frequent charging, and are suitable for high-frequency transportation on fixed routes within metal products factories (such as from the raw material warehouse to the stamping workshop, from the heat treatment furnace to the finished product warehouse).

    • Automation integration: It can be connected with the factory MES system, and can realize fixed-point parking, automatic loading and unloading through PLC programming, or linked with cranes, conveyor belts and other equipment to form assembly line operations (for example, steel is directly transported to the bending machine station by flat cars after shearing). 3. Low maintenance cost and safety

    • Simple structure and easy maintenance: After the rails are laid, it is only necessary to regularly check the gauge and flatness. The transmission system of the flat car itself (such as gears and motors) has a fixed running track, so the wear is more uniform than that of trackless equipment, and the maintenance cycle is longer.

    • Complete safety protection: Equipped with limit switches (to prevent derailment), sound and light alarm devices, and some models are equipped with anti-derailment devices, combined with anti-collision buffer blocks on both sides of the rails to reduce safety risks during transportation.

Typical application scenarios of metal product factories:

    1. Raw material storage and pre-processing stage •

Scenario: Transporting coils and profiles (such as angle steel and channel steel) from steel warehouses to leveling machines and shearing lines.

    • Advantages: The flat car table can be customized into long strips or special brackets (such as V-shaped brackets for coils), and can be used with cranes for loading and unloading to transport multiple bundles of steel at a time, reducing the number of round trips.

    2. Processing and assembly stage

    • Scenario: Transporting stamped metal parts from punch presses to welding stations, or transporting heat-treated parts from heating furnaces to cooling areas.

    • Customized design: Some flat car tables are equipped with positioning tools (such as slots and fixtures) to prevent workpieces from shifting during transportation, and even integrated with flipping mechanisms to facilitate workers to load and unload vertically placed metal plates.

    3. Finished product storage and shipment

    • Scenario: Transporting finished metal products (such as chassis shells and steel structural parts) from the packaging area to warehouse shelves or loading platforms.

    • Improved efficiency: The flat car can be used in conjunction with a rail-mounted gantry crane to achieve the integrated operation of “flat car transportation + lifting and warehousing”, which is especially suitable for heavy and irregular metal products.
